MARU Academy began as an idea with a clear purpose but no established identity, platform or digital presence.

The challenge was to transform that vision into a complete educational ecosystem capable of serving schools, parents and students.

The solution required more than a website. It needed a brand, a story, a learning platform and a scalable programme structure that could support learners throughout their journey.

We worked closely with the founder to understand the opportunity, audience and long-term vision for the platform.

Through discovery workshops, market research and content planning, we identified how MARU Academy could bridge the gap between traditional education and real-world readiness. These insights became the foundation for every strategic and creative decision that followed.

With a clear strategic direction in place, we developed the MARU Academy brand from the ground up. Defining its name, positioning, messaging, and value proposition to create a meaningful identity for schools, parents, and learners.

The name MARU is derived from the Japanese word meaning "circle." A circle represents wholeness, continuity, and lifelong growth. Values that perfectly reflect the Academy's philosophy. Rather than focusing solely on academic achievement, MARU believes education should nurture well-rounded individuals equipped with the confidence, resilience, and practical life skills needed to thrive beyond the classroom. Just as a circle has no beginning or end, learning is viewed as a continuous journey that extends far beyond school.

At the heart of the identity is a phoenix, a timeless symbol of transformation, growth, and new beginnings. It represents the positive change that MARU strives to bring to schools, families, and individuals through education.

The phoenix's wings are intentionally shaped to resemble an open book, reinforcing the Academy's foundation in learning while symbolizing knowledge as the catalyst for personal growth and opportunity.

Within the wordmark, the letter "R" is crafted to appear as though it is supporting and lifting the "U". This subtle detail reflects MARU Academy's role as a guide, providing encouragement, support, and direction throughout every learner's journey.

Together with a carefully selected colour palette, typography, and supporting visual system, the identity communicates optimism, trust, and forward momentum, creating a distinctive brand built to grow alongside its community.

WEBSITE EXPERIENCE

Alongside the brand, we created the website experience, content structure and user journeys across multiple audience groups.

LEARNING PLATFORM & PROGRAMMES

We also designed and developed the digital learning environment, programme framework and supporting systems required to deliver learning at scale.

SOCIAL MEDIA

To support launch awareness, we created a suite of social media assets designed to maintain a consistent brand presence across digital channels.

EMAIL MARKETING

To support engagement beyond the platform, we designed a suite of branded email communications that helped nurture prospective learners, onboard new users and maintain ongoing engagement.
